Two step PDO thread aftercare by Arnicare

Two step PDO thread aftercare by Arnicare

Polydioxanone threads, most commonly known as PDO threads have been increasing in popularity with many clinics now offering the procedure to lift areas of the face or alter the shape of the nose.

The most commonly reported side effects of PDO threads are bruising and swelling, which can in cases last up to two weeks (to find out more about the stages of bruising click here). Interestingly, a study by Bertosi et al reported a complication rate of 34% including things like displacement of the barbed suture, thread dimpling, redness and infection.

Arnicare has developed a two step PDO thread aftercare regime that can be easily managed by patients in their home after their procedure. The Arnicare two step PDO thread aftercare process was developed with our patients in mind. Patients undergoing PDO thread lifts have often viewed the procedure on Instagram beforehand, which can lead to anxiety around needle insertion and subsequent complications like bruising and swelling. Providing patients with an easy two step process to manage their aftercare following PDO threads aims to alleviate anxiety and improve the overall impact of their result.

Educating your patients on the Arnicare two step PDO thread aftercare process is simple. If your patients are undergoing other dermal filler procedures in conjunction with their PDO thread lift the Arnicare team would recommend purchasing the Arnicare post procedure kit as this will offer the patient the best value for money. Arnicare would recommend our Arnica healing cream and Arnicare lip shaped ice pack to patients undergoing PDO thread lift only.

The Arnicare two step process is as follows:

Step one:

Discuss routine PDO thread lift aftercare with your patient and advise to apply an Arnicare lip shaped ice pack for ten minutes to the treated area commencing after their procedure.

At Arnicare we love to apply our lip shaped ice packs to areas that have been treated invasively as a way to minimise bruising and swelling. The Arnicare lip shaped ice packs can be applied to the cheek, lower face and will even mould to fit the nose. Patients undergoing full face lift may require two ice packs.

Step two:

The day following PDO thread lift patients can be advised to apply Arnica healing cream to the treated area following ice pack application. This can be repeated up to four times per day.

Our Arnica healing cream contains a powerful combination of arnica, curcuma longa and niacinamide which can reduce bruising, swelling and redness. Our Arnica healing cream is currently 50% off for wholesale customers.

If you are new to performing PDO thread lifts in your clinic, have you considered offering your patients a gift with purchase to promote your new procedure? Our Arnicare ice packs are $5 each wholesale and the arnica healing cream is currently $6.48, with a combined retail value of $36.95 offering a great value promotion for your potential PDO thread lift patients.
