We would love to hear a little bit about Toxbar and the services you offer:

Toxbar has just turned 7! We are a medical grade cosmetic clinic that provides a range of cosmetic injectable and skin treatments, and we were the first regional clinic offering intravenous vitamin therapy over the past 7 years. Our Director and Founder Ashleigh Robinson has completed a Master of Nurse Practitioner and is able to prescribe and consult within her clinic and supports numerous nurses across Victoria.

Why did you become a nurse practitioner Ash?

I really wanted to become a master in my field and be able to provide my patients with the best possible outcome. I have a passion for keeping up with the latest education and treatment approaches and I love sharing my wealth of knowledge with fellow colleagues.

How do you maintain a focus on safety in your clinic?

Safety is incredibly important to myself and my team. We have a focus on keeping up to date with best practice in our industry, we have a robust incident reporting system and focus on training in the latest injection techniques. As a nurse practitioner ensures I have advanced assessment skills in being able to rapidly assess and manage adverse reactions, such as a vascular occlusion. Being able to prescribe Hyaluronidase means in the rare circumstance this would occur, our patients are able to receive immediate care without the wait for an on-call doctor.

What is your favourite treatment to perform?

I love the art of facial aesthetics and I feel the cheeks are the main support for facial aging. It is amazing what a little bit of cheek filler can do!

How do you ensure your patients get the most out of their results?

It is essential for patients to follow strict aftercare instructions such as applying Arnicare after their treatment. We have found the arnica healing cream works really well after cheek filler in conjunction with one of the lip ice packs in reducing bruising and swelling that can occur. Ensuring patients follow up regularly with their practitioner is also really important. Consistency is key! Rome wasn’t built in a day!
