So you want to get your lips done but are scared about bruising afterwards? So were we! That is why we developed Australia's first range of products focused exclusively on after care for lip filler. We are finding that most patients are seeking a natural lip filler look and generally shy away from that over filled look.
Not surprisingly the number one question we get asked as Cosmetic Injectors is "Will I bruise"? and " How long does bruising last after lip filler?" Unfortunately, the answer most people don't want to hear is yes, maybe, and...a few days? Bruising after lip filler can be dependent on a number of factors, including your medical history, current medications, alcohol intake, your anatomy, or even the injector's technique.
The best thing you can do to prevent bruising after lip filler is to focus on following the directions provided to you by your injector. This may include things like avoiding alcohol, anti-inflammatory medications and vigorous exercise before and after your procedure.
If you remember back to your sports days you may be familiar with RICE (Rest, Ice, compression, Elevation). This is also very much relevant after lip filler. Using an ice pack pre- and post-procedure is a sure way to minimise bruising and swelling - although we know that many clients enjoy that post procedure lip swell!
Finally, using a lip aftercare solution that contains arnica, such as the best-selling Arnica Healing Balm, to minimise the appearance of bruising to ensure you walk out of the clinic feeling fabulous and happy with your results.
